Tips for Buying or Selling a Used Camp-Inn Travel Trailer

Camp-Inn travel trailers are built to the highest quality standards. Because of this fact, used Camp-Inns maintain a very high resale value. Historically, most used Camp-Inn trailers have sold for greater than 80% of their original sales price, regardless of age. Well maintained and lightly used Camp-Inns have historically resold for higher than 90% of their original sales price.

Most other manufacturer's travel trailers decrease in value rapidly after rolling off the sales lot. This is not the case with Camp-Inn trailers. Camp-Inn trailers are quality built with durability and longevity in mind. This fact makes a Camp-Inn travel trailer one of the best bargains in the RV industry.

BUYING A USED CAMP-INN.

Camp-Inn doesn't sell used trailers, except for the occasional retired showroom model.

Used Camp-Inns can typically be found on the internet in several places:

  • Ebay - Online auctions. www.ebay.com

  • Craig's List - Online classifieds. www.craigslist.org
CraigsList requires that you narrow a search by selecting specific area or city. because of this, finding searches in a broader area or nationwide can be difficult. There are other services that help you search craigslist nationwide like www.searchcraigslist.org, www.onecraigs.com, or www.searchtempest.com.

  • Unofficial Camp-Inn Forum - An online forum run by Camp-Inn owners for Camp-Inn owners. www.campinnforum.com
On the forum home page, scroll down to the "For Sale / Wanted" section to find a listing of used Camp-Inn trailers that are available.

Advice: Occasionally, scams have been run on Ebay and Craigslist, advertizing Camp-Inn trailers. For this reason, if you see a Camp-Inn trailer for sale, be wary. Ask the seller for specifics that a Camp-Inn owner should know, like the "Build Number." The build number is located upper left corner in the kitchen. (pre-2004 trailers may not have build number tags installed.)

Occasionally, trailers are being sold by an estate, so the seller doesn't know many details. In that case, find out at least the last name of the previous owner and then contact Camp-Inn. We can tell you if that name matches our records.

If the seller is being vague or their answers don't sound right, suspect that it may be a scam. If you see an ad on the internet that you suspect is a scam, contact Camp-Inn and we will try to help determine if it is a legitimate sale.

If you are interested in a used Camp-Inn trailer, but it is missing a few options or accessories that you really want, contact Camp-Inn about the possibility of adding those items to your trailer after you buy it. Some upgrades may require bringing the trailer to our facilities, where others can be owner installed. Camp-Inn routinely does upgrades or repairs for new owners of used Camp-Inns, so don't feel shy about asking, if you would like something done.

  • PRICING A USED CAMP-INN.

Used Camp-Inn's typically sell for 80-90% of what they sold for when brand new, assuming they are still in good condition. The used price will need to be adjusted from there based on the following factors:

  • Time of the year being sold. (Higher in Spring and early Summer)
  • Does the trailer have popular options? (Air Conditioning and SUV are the most popular)
  • Number of similar used Camp-Inns currently for sale.
  • How quickly the seller wants to sell.
  • Condition of the trailer.
